Titans Season 2 (Through episode 3)

Titans Season 2 is starting off strong and looking like it will be a fantastic season.

The only real complaint I have around the show is that the Season 2 opening episode really should have been the last episode of Season 1. DC really should consider the consequences that could come if they suddenly decided to cancel a series after 1 season (I’m looking at you Swamp Thing...), there was a cliffhanger at the end of the first episode of season 2 that really made it feel like it belonged with the previous season (which it kind of did since it wrapped up the loose ends for the fist season).

Slade Wilson is the Joker to the Titans Batman, seeing him show up had me wanting to cheer. There is something about seeing a villain that is every bit as dangerous as the Joke but without the insanity and straight-up disturbing behavior. Deathstroke gives you chills in a way the Joker cannot. Joker may laugh while blowing up an orphanage, but Wilson will just stare coldly and walk away because it’s what he was hired to do. He is deadly and always a threat to the Titans in every incarnation. Seeing him as the big bad of the season is awesome.

Season 2 has started off strong and looks as though it will continue a great series. Kori having to deal with her obligations to her home planet as she has had to do in other variants of the Titans, a true villain with Dethstroke, drama with hints that we will get the story of why the original Titans fell apart, and the existing drama stepping up with the new Titans (Raven, Beast Boy, Jason Todd) is all adding up to be an excellent flagship series. I’ve not been this excited about a DC series since Young Justice.
